Titanium. Walk over gray, titanium has appeared. Gray has been an transpiring color for some time now, but it has been a small flat without much wisdom. Titanium just brings gray to the next degree. Of all the neutrals on this year’s palette, this by far is a dearest. It couples with everything as well as would appear chiefly remarkable with Pink Flambe and Bright Chartreuse.
Instead of the traditional evergreen, try a homemade wreath of citrus fruits. Start with a circular piece of florist’s foam, then use wooden florist’s picks to secure large items, such as oranges, first. Continue with smaller fruit―kumquats, clementines, limes. Tie with a thick velvet ribbon.
Pinecones can be found all over the country and collected any time of the year. I love adding them to indoor arrangements, wreaths and outdoor seasonal urns. They are naturally beautiful, but can also be whitewashed or spray painted to make them a little more exciting. Tip: Floral wire is your friend when attaching pinecones. Fold a length of wire in half, then slip the loop around the cone, twisting ends to secure.
